The Autism Experience

The Autism Society of Massachusetts is launching Autism, In Our Own Words, a new initiative designed to share the real stories of individuals with Autism and their families across Massachusetts.

Autism looks different for every person and every family. Through Autism, In Our Own Words, we want to create space for lived experiences- the challenges, the strengths, the growth, and the moments that matter. By sharing authentic stories, we can build understanding, reduce stigma, and help our communities better support individuals with Autism throughout their lives.

We invite individuals with Autism, parents, caregivers, and family members to share their stories in whatever way feels most comfortable, written reflections, short videos, or quotes. Stories may be shared on our website, social media, and during Autism Awareness Month in April.
